Romans 4-6

If Romans 1-3 describes our utter moral failure before God, chapters 4-5 describe how God has chosen to reach in and change us to be morally pure before him…not because of us, but because he has chosen in His grace (pure unmerited gifting) to justify (make  morally pure) us through faith (when we believe he can and will do what he says he will).  Chapter 6 then gives us encouragement as to how to live in the truth of God’s gift to us…by embracing our new identity in Christ and by being obedient to His teachings as a slave to a respected master.  Christian hope then becomes living our lives in the expectation of his fulfilled promises to us…minute by minute, day be day, unto eternity.
