Here Paul reminds us of God’s ministry to us and its results. He has saved us (by abolishing death and bringing life and immortality) and called us (in line with His purpose grace and power). To me, this is a reassuring reminder that if God has given us a task, He is faithful to empower us to carry it out. Look at Paul in vs 11. He was called by and in accordance with God’s purpose to preach, apostle and teach. This prompts me to examine myself…what is my ministry? Once identified look at our call to heart attitude in 12-14…suffer, not ashamed, guarded by the Lord, maintain standard of sound doctrine, maintain love and guard the treasure. God ministers to and supplies us so I can minister to and encourage others…Lord give me strength to do that.
