Keeping expectations reasonable

I am amazed at how often people so readily accept that new technologies in medicine must be helpful because they are “new” and “technological”.  This abstract is a poignant reminder to us all that we need to  be cautious in our expectations with respect to new treatments, even in the emotionally charged arena of the heart, a heart attack and predicting ones cardiac future. http://www.annals.org/content/153/5/307.abstract
