Hebrews 8, Embracing new life

Change is always difficult.  But change can be good.  In this chapter the writer to the Hebrews (author not known for sure, probably Paul) challenges us to embrace a new covenant, a deeper faith, a faith that can produce life change.   Salvation history prior to Jesus pointed out our inadequacies in effecting true spiritual transformation.  In our own strength we fall short.  But with this new covenant between God and man, a relationship made possible by “Jesus the high priest who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a minister in the sanctuary and the true tabernacle which the Lord pitched not man.” (8:1), we can enter into a “merciful and forgiving” (8:12) relationship with the living God of the universe.  This relationship gives one the wisdom and strength to change.  Lord, show us Your mercy and forgiveness and use it to change us…
