James 2; faith and works

I have always been fascinated by Jesus’ comment when he heals the lame man, “what is easier to say, your sins are forgiven or rise up and walk?”.  The wisdom in this question comes into view in James 2.  So often one believes, but then it becomes harder to make the changes, choices and sacrifice which go along with belief.  Here in James 2 the reminders are so poignant.  Do not get caught up in the worldy recognition game, love your neighbor, show mercy, assist a brother.  How do we apply these principles without getting run over by a merciless world.  Lord grant us the wisdom and strength to believe and to do…
