1 Peter 2:1-3; long for the word

It is hard to describe what it feels like to “long for the word”.  The word (logikon) in this context suggests scripture.  Verse 3 probably sums it best…the longing is a natural result of “tasting the kindness of the Lord”.  As we experience His kindness-forgiveness, protection, direction, encouragement, blessing, provision both individually and corporately (through brothers and sisters) we are brought to the most direct point of relationship.  That direct point is digging into the word and encountering God there.  If you have not opened the word and read it, I would encourage you to do so.  Even sceptics admit being amazed at what they encounter.  In a time when we are bombarded with so much complexity, it is refreshing to sit down within view of a sunrise and encounter the simple truth of the message of scripture.
