Isaiah 3; Atheistic Medicine?

Isaiah chapter 3 in a broad sense reminds us of what can happen if God withdraws blessing from His people when they become functionally atheistic.  In a more particular sense, verse 7 and a parallel passage in Ezekial (34:1-6, esp verse 4) suggest that when “healers” or “Shepherds” either abdicate (Isaiah 3:7…”I will not be your healer”) or become self centered in spiritual/physical responsibility to the community, the people suffer. Ezekial says, “those who are sickly you have not strengthened, the diseased you have not healed, the broken you have not bound up, the scattered you have not brought back, nor have you sought for the lost…”  Both the reminder to spiritual sensitivity and the implied expectation of physical results are powerful reminders of the responsibility the medical community and the faith community have in looking out for each other.
