Isaiah 30; A counterintuitive approach to finding a way

Who and What to incorporate into our decision making processes can be a formitable task.  Sometimes the obvious is not the best.  In these verses the nation of Israel went with the obvious.  When in need of help or direction they called upon a strong nation who “appeared” ready and able to help (verses 2-4) only to realize they would not or could not (verse 7).  For us maybe it is people or things or position that seem the place to go.  These verses alternatively show us where we can go…Lord’s path and Spirit (vs 1), Lord’s word (vs 12) and with what attitude (repentance, quiteness and trust vs 15).  An amazing promise follows, “the Lord longs to be gracious to you and therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you (vs 18)”.   That is the sort of blessing which makes for the discovery of a meaningful way.
