Isaiah 31; Ascribing loyalties

These verses again caution us to place our loyalty and trust in the One who is worthy.  Horses, chariots and horseman are not worthy. The Lord is worthy.  Why? Among other reasons, verses 7-9 state that He is greater than our idols and stronger than our politicians and militaries.  So the prophet cries out in verse 6, “return to Him from whom you have deeply defected.”  The fact that return to Him is even possible after a defection says volumes about the grace of God.
