Isaiah 42:10-13; Call to musical worship, a calling for musicians

In these verses Isaiah calls us to worship the Lord in song, with singing and with our voices.  What is the power of worship in our lives? One answer is that in it, our purpose in creation is fulfilled.  We as creatures are in our proper place honoring the creator and with that comes peace, joy and fulfillment.  Revelation 4:10 puts it this way, “worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.”  Another question;  why is music  so tied to worship?  As a musician, my answer from personal experience is that as I express my love for the Lord through the notes played on my guitar it offers an avenue of expression that is beyond the cognitive.  It really is an expression of the Spirit within me and is another aspect of relating to God.  In the call to singing then, we are all musicians and can relate to God in this way…music truly is a universal language.  In 1 Chronicles 15:16, King David insructed the temple priests, “to appoint [your] relatives the singers, with instruments of music, harps, lyres, loud-sounding cymbals, TO RAISE SOUNDS OF JOY…If you have not considered using your instrument in the expression of worship (either publicly/corporately or privately), I would encourage you to do so…
