Isaiah 46; God is faithful

As people so bound to the sensory things of this world, we often look to those things for reassurance.  The people of Isaiah 46 found themselves in the same situation.  When faced with the struggles of life and battles against enemies, beasts of burden (vss 1-2) and idols (vss 5-7) seemed much more tangible protectors than an invisible God of the universe.   But the Lord says, “listen to me” and “be assured”.  He reminds them of His faithfulness, unchangeableness, uniqueness, wisdom and power.  For those “stubborn minded” (vs 12) the Lord implores, “listen to Me…I bring near My righteousness, it is not far off; and My salvation will not delay…”
