Isaiah 48; God’s patience in salvation

This chapter illustrates how people can be stubborn and obstinate to respond with thanks and faith when being called and blessed by God.  While God’s effectual calling of us is ultimately irresistable, why is it that we resist His outstretched gracious hand? Verse 4 says, “I know that you are obstinate and your neck is an iron sinew and your forehead bronze”.  But how does our gracious Lord respond?  Look at verse 9, “for the sake of My name I delay my wrath”.  Why?  Look at 2 Peter 3:9, “the Lord is not slow about His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance”.  We are all invited to respond…
