Psalm 119:81-88; Koph and the fruit of patience

Patience is a virtue near forgotten in our culture.  The ability to wait, consider, monitor and  pray before acting is a vanishing discipline.  It is so easy to react, lash out and over-react to events and decisions that confront us.  In these verses the Psalmist is anticipating the ministry and movement of the Lord.  Notice the words used to describe this anticipation…languish, wait, longing, when, not forsake.  A heart that trusts enough to patiently wait for the movement of the Lord in its midst is rewarded.  “Revive me according to Your lovingkindness, so that I may keep the testimony of Your mouth”.
