Glucose in the ICU — Evidence, Guidelines, and Outcomes — NEJM.

This is a nice summary on how aggressively glucose should be controlled in the acutely ill.  For now the pendulum seems to be set at “moderately” (about 180 based on the nice-sugar study).  The goal of “normalization” seems to be too aggressive and causes side effects.  See the attached article.
