Continuing the Mammography debate…

I have attached interesting information on Mammography from Jama this month.  While mammograms continue to be recommended routinely for breast cancer screening, as the medical community matures in its ability to properly use its technology, we are finding nuanced results in assumptions once assumed to be “no brainers”.  The current bottom line is that mammograms are important but as in any diagnostic medical evaluation, they need to be obtained within the context of a discussion of risks, benefits and possible side effects.
