Zechariah; An introductory word to those building new faith communities

I have just finished going through the book of Zechariah devotionally.  This “minor” prophet has a “major” message for us as believers and for our new fellowship as a Calvary Chapel in Pueblo, Colorado.  Written during the transition time from the Babylonian captivity of the Jews to their reestablishing temple worship back in Jerusalem (just after Ezra, Nehemiah and their prophet Haggai have finished the temple building), Zechariah’s prophecy ultimately centers on reviving the spiritual heart that builds vital fellowship and ministry, the spiritual heart that empowers the physical expression of our ministry.  As we move forward as believers in established fellowships or in building new fellowships, Zechariah has a timely word for us.  Subsequent posts will explore his amazing message to us…
